{"id":81,"date":"2020-11-25T15:37:05","date_gmt":"2020-11-25T15:37:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/spanishhomecook.com\/?page_id=81"},"modified":"2022-02-28T08:04:13","modified_gmt":"2022-02-28T08:04:13","slug":"baby-squid","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/spanishhomecook.com\/?page_id=81","title":{"rendered":"Baby Squid"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Baby squid<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ingredients&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1 kg of baby squid<\/li><li>2 onions&nbsp;<\/li><li>2-3 cloves of garlic&nbsp;<\/li><li>Maze floor (course is better)<\/li><li>Olive oil&nbsp;<\/li><li>Salt<\/li><li>Black pepper&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>First make sure all the squid has been cleaned. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You do this by removing the plastic like inside parts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Once he is cleaned, then give him a good rinse in water. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Separate the heads from the bodies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now we\u2019re ready for shallow frying.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Put some oil into a pan, you will need about a centimetre or so,  then get it heated up on a fairly high heat. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Add salt and pepper to some maize flour on a plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dust the baby squid in the maize flower, in Spain you can get a course maze flour which is best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fry a few of the squid at a time, don&#8217;t put to many into the pan, as this will cause the pan to cool down and the water from the squid will boil them. (not what we want at all)! <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Only fry for a few minutes, if you cook them for too long they will become rubbery. (again not what we want).\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As soon as the first batch is ready place onto kitchen paper to drain, and at start the next batch. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Repeat until they\u2019er all cooked. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Serve straight away with lemon salt and maybe a dash of paprika. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Job done!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Baby squid Ingredients&nbsp; 1 kg of baby squid 2 onions&nbsp; 2-3 cloves of garlic&nbsp; Maze floor (course is better) Olive oil&nbsp; Salt Black pepper&nbsp; First make sure all the squid has been cleaned.
